Genoa R. Warner, PhD

Principal Investigator

Genoa is an Assistant Professor in the the Department of Chemistry and Environmental Science at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. She completed postdoctoral training in reproductive toxicology in the Department of Comparative Biosciences at the University of Illinois. She received her PhD from Carnegie Mellon University in the Department of Chemistry where she developed small molecule oxidation catalysts to degrade micropollutants in water. Her research on how environmental chemicals impact the female reproductive system is funded by a K99/R00 Career Transition Award from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Her interests include endocrine disruption, reproductive toxicology, sustainable chemistry, and science communication.

  • Hanin Alahmadi

Hanin is a graduate student in the Environmental Science PhD program. She received her masters degree in environmental science from University of New Haven and a biology degree majoring in zoology from King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia. Her interest include endocrine disruption and reproductive toxicology.

  • Leyla Bobić

Leyla is a first-year PhD student in Chemistry . She decided on this route as it allows her to combine her long-term passion for the anatomical sciences and medicine from her undergraduate Biology days, along with her newfound interests for pharmacology, toxicology, and green chemistry originating throughout the MS Pharmaceutical Chemistry program. Beyond the lab, you can find Leyla attending spin class or tending to her succulent garden.

  • Rivka Farrell

Rivka is an undergraduate research assistant. Following a year in Israel, studying education, Rivka joined the biology program at NJIT, with physician-scientist as the long-term vision. During the weekends, she volunteers as an EMT and during her spare time, Rivka enjoys hiking, kayaking, painting, and designing jewelry.
